The Texas State University Police Department and the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, County of Maui are pleased to announce the Leave No Victim Behind VI national training conference for 2022. The conference will take place on October 25-27, 2022, at the Texas State University Campus in San Marcos, Texas. The Leave No Victim Behind conference series will continue its focus on best practices for responding to mass violence and unique partnerships between law enforcement and victim services to assist victims of crime.

This year’s conference theme is "The Brutal Plagues Devastating The Globe; Hate Crimes and Gun Violence - How Do We Respond? How Do We Heal? Collaborative Strategies for Mass Violence Response and Recovery”. The conference will allow participants the opportunity to learn how communities continue to meet the needs of victims, survivors, and responders of a large-scale mass violence incident on a short and long-term basis. Participants will hear from responders and victims of recent and past mass violent events.

Specifically, we will discuss what questions to expect during preliminary and on-campus interviews, how to interact with the interviewers before and after the interview, what to wear, how to avoid common mistakes in phone and Zoom Interviews, and how to prepare for different elements of an on-campus visit.
